With 42 weights, widths, and italics, there’s plenty of flexibility to fit every word perfectly. So, where does the name come from? Look up at the summer night sky. Albireo is a binary star in the constellation Cygnus. Through a backyard telescope, the star appears as two brilliant components—one orange and one blue. The idea for the typeface started when I needed a newspaper headline about space exploration. I couldn’t find the right typeface, so I drew my own letters and eventually expanded them into an entire type family.
